In this episode, my guests are Ece Doğrucu and Toby Fox, two pioneers in this field, and the founders of Unfold. Both have backgrounds in tech and design. Toby has been a software developer in creative media tech, building everything from anti-censorship tools for journalists to new funding platforms for artists. Ece has worked in products in a variety of settings, from small startups building story-telling tools to large companies, impacting millions of people in ways that change their lives and she is now on a path to become a licensed psychotherapist.
They met 16 years ago and have been best friends and collaborators since, which has led them to many journeys together, psychedelic and otherwise. A lifetime of creative projects and explorations has led them to the creation of Unfold.
In a world where the exploration of consciousness is increasingly embraced, many individuals turn to psychedelics as a means of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. Yet, as these substances remain largely illegal in many parts of the world, users often navigate their journeys without adequate guidance or support.
We talk about the challenges and ethical considerations involved in creating such products. And yes, we also touch on their beautiful brand story!
