In this episode, my guest is Devon Phillips, Community & Partnerships Officer at Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). He is also the founder of the innovative harm-reduction fashion company, More Life.
Devon has a background in neuroscience and human-centred design. With his work, he develops strategies and partnerships to answer the question: “How do we responsibly mainstream psychedelics?” He is a creative through and through and lover of innovation, art, design, music, fashion – we had the absolute pleasure to have him speak at our event this summer and are super happy to have the chance to extend on that conversation today.
Devon shares his unique journey from a conservative background in Lubbock, Texas, to becoming a prominent figure in the psychedelics space. The discussion covers his unexpected entry into entrepreneurship, his experiences running a tech startup, and the pivotal psychedelic experience that led him to dedicate his life to psychedelics. Devin's story highlights the intersection of diverse backgrounds, innovative thinking, and the transformative power of psychedelics.
We covered challenges and opportunities in the psychedelic field, as well as the importance of bridging different communities and cultures.
This episode should interest creatives, educators, activists, entrepreneurs, and design enthusiasts.

More Life
More Life is turning fashion into action. ”We understand two things: fashion has always been an effective cultural canvas that grabs the attention of others. and we are currently facing a problem that is killing hundreds of thousands of loved ones. So we took the fashion cultural vehicle, and paired it with harm reduction tools and education that allows our community to take action and be a part of the solution.”

FROM OUR PARTNERS
MAPS launch “Music is the Bridge”!
The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pioneering research and education around psychedelics and cannabis, proudly launches “Music is the Bridge”—an innovative campaign that connects music with psychedelic education to promote safe, intentional exploration of psychedelics. Through a powerful collaboration with renowned artists, MAPS acts as a bridge between the medical, the mystical, the mainstream, and the marginalized, equipping individuals with transformative tools for self-discovery and reflection.
The “Music is the Bridge” campaign features monthly playlists curated by popular artists like Lil Yachty, Reggie Watts, East Forest, Brandon Boyd, CloZee, Boreta, Superposition, Melissa Etheridge, Good Trip Studios, Dr. Bronner’s, and DJ Doblin (Rick). Each artists’ playlist includes carefully selected songs that have enhanced their personal psychedelic and integration experiences. This will be the first round of participating artists in the evolving series.
Accompanying these musical experiences are MAPS’ free resources, including a Psychedelic Fundamentals online course and a downloadable Integration Workbook, all accessible atmaps.org. This comprehensive approach underscores MAPS’ commitment to responsibly mainstream psychedelics, helping people shift perceptions and engage with these tools thoughtfully.
