In this episode, my guest is Marc Violo, the founder of MycoStories, a global fungi innovation and conservation network focused on exploring and promoting the applications of fungi for sustainable solutions across industries. MycoStories supports academic research and early-stage startups through business and investment strategy.
For the last 15 years, Marc has worked across 4 continents as a director of startups and business units in technology and sustainability. Beginning his career at Tencent, China's largest internet company, Marc later joined the leading communication agency, Ogilvy & Mather, as Managing Partner of their Singapore innovation agency. He has also worked as a London-based consultant focusing on a variety of circular economy projects, with clients such as the Royal Bank of Scotland, and was Vice-President at Terracycle, an award-winning recycling company.
We talked with Marc about the transformative potential of fungi, exploring their applications in various fields that range from food, materials, agriculture and carbon storage to physical and mental health.
