Psychedelics Design Expedition
+ Survey of Designer’s Psychedelic Use: How Does Psychedelic Use Interact with Design-Specific Problem Solving, Creativity and Mindset?
In recent years, there has been a burgeoning interest in exploring the dynamic connection between psychedelics and design. How do psychedelics shine a new light on questions about human consciousness, existence, creativity, mortality, and transcendence? In what ways do psychedelics influence and refract social and cultural shifts? In what ways can psychedelics potentially drive a transition from human-centric to life-centric, regenerative design methodologies?
Last week saw the first event at the intersection of psychedelics and design. We are feeling so much gratitude! Let’s continue to explore this intersection together!

Psychedelics Design Expedition
Psychedelics are revered for their ability to evoke profound alterations in consciousness and lead individuals into more openness, focus, and even mystical experiences or the experience of ego dissolution. Furthermore, psychedelics have shown promise in enhancing perception, intensifying sensory experiences, and inspiring novel insights into the creative process.
By examining how psychedelics augment perception, creativity, and cognition, we are on an expedition toward new realms of how to design for individual, collective and planetary well-being.
From consumer products, service offerings and branding, to designing digital interfaces and immersive experiences, and even systems; designers have something to contribute regarding shaping the narrative surrounding psychedelics. In societies where psychedelics have long endured stigma, design emerges as a great alley for reshaping public perceptions.
Historically, psychedelics have played an integral role across diverse cultures and civilizations. From ancient rituals and ceremonies to contemporary art movements, psychedelics have served as wellsprings of inspiration and insight for artists and designers alike. We will see how these influences shape visions of community and collectivity, offering a look into the ways psychedelics are potentially reshaping our understanding of human connection and solidarity.
For the first time, Psychedelics Design brought together pioneers in psychedelics and design to talk about research, business, design, architecture, branding and microdosing. As psychedelics gain mainstream momentum, we hope that these events (next one is up in July) provide a unique opportunity to learn first-hand from the visionaries shaping the psychedelic renaissance.
❤️ We are forever grateful for our amazing speakers Paul Austin, Michel Rojkind, Floris Wolswijk, Jemma Campbell, Carly-Dutch-Greene, Alexandra Plesner and Henry Winslow & our supportive community of partners who all contributed to making this possible.
Special thanks to Unfold, Mycoday, and Psychedelika Club!
Survey of Designer’s Psychedelic Use: How Does Psychedelic Use Interact with Design-Specific Problem Solving, Creativity and Mindset?
We would like to invite you to participate in this research project which forms part of our specific psychedelic user research focusing on designers. The findings could inform future research and guidelines for the safe use of psychedelics in design, contributing to broader discussions on their role in creative processes and a shift to life-centred design.
Ultimately, the study aims to inspire a fresh perspective and deepen understanding of psychedelics' benefits and risks in design. This survey will take about 5-8 minutes of your time. Please share away and do let us know regarding any ideas, thoughts, feedback, questions 🙏
